Ellisbridge and Kagdapith Police Station Police Inspectors suspended on same day after two murders raise public hue & cry

Amid a surge in serious crimes in the city, including two murders in full public view in 48 hours - one in Ellisbridge and another in Kagdapith - Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G S Malik suspended two police inspectors on Monday. Ironically, he held a press conference the same day shelling out statistics to prove how the crime rate had fallen in the city.

Inspectors suspended Inspector B D Jaleriya of Ellisbridge was suspended for negligence in controlling law and order after a shooting incident involving a vegetable vendor in Nehrunagar which falls under the Ellisbridge police station.
