Bandobast duty will not be easy for the police in the coming days. On one hand is the pressure to maintain the law-and-order situation in the state during the Ganesh visarjan and Eide-Milad festivities, and on the other is the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Adding to their woes is a clash between two separate groups staking claim to the leadership of the Eid-e-Milad Committee Ahmedabad.
The PM will land in Ahmedabad on September 15 on a two-day visit.
Ganesh Visarjan will continue till September 17, while Eid-e-Milad is on September 16. Security agencies have been on high alert following the incident of stone-pelting in Surat.
