In the elections of the international organisation Vishwa Gujarati Samaj (VGS), G D Patel has been elected uncontested as president. This follows the invalidation of the incumbent president C K Patel's candidature by the election officer. G D Patel hails from Kota, Rajasthan, and was vice president of the VGS, with which he has been associated for 30 years.
