The development of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave and the Karai Sports Hub is progressing steadily, with the state government inviting tenders for project management consultancy for both projects. The Gujarat Olympic Planning and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Golympic) has called for bids to develop these facilities as part of India's proposal to host the 2036 Olympics. Ahmedabad is set to serve as the host city if India's bid is successful.
To bolster its chances, the state government is focusing on building world-class sports infrastructure, with the SVP Sports Enclave as a flagship initiative. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 6,000 crore, will span a sprawling 355-acre site in Motera, adjacent to the Narendra Modi Stadium.
