This may result from a subconscious fear that scolding or denying children their wishes may distance them. Another point, often reasoned by psychiatrists and psychologists, is a growing number of those engaged in helicopter parenting. These parents take excessive interest in the life of their child, monitoring activities and pushing even their toddlers to participate in a variety of activities, classes and competitions.
