MLAs Janak Talaviya, Jignesh Mevani, Kiritkumar Patel, Jethabhai Ahir and MP Umesh Patel have declared they face case/s of crime against women in their election affidavits; nationally, 151 sitting MPs and MLAs face charges: ADR

Four sitting MLAs in Gujarat are currently facing charges related to crimes against women. This information came to light through their self-declared poll affidavits and a report released by the Association of Democratic Reform (ADR) on Wednesday.

The MLAs hail from both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, with two from each party. Additionally, an Independent MP from Daman and Diu also has such cases against him.

Among the MLAs facing charges is Jethabhai Ahir, the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly and a BJP MLA from the Shehra constituency in Panchmahal district.
