Riverfront to get a swanky new convention centre, complete with a hotel, amphitheatre, parking for 1,000 cars and performing arts theatre; the centre will be built near Tagore Hall at a cost of Rs 792.5 crore

Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Riverfront is set to welcome a new landmark—a convention, cultural and business centre. Planned near Tagore Hall, the centre will be built at a cost of Rs 792.50 crore.

With Tagore Hall, Sanskar Kendra and an event centre already nearby, the new convention centre is expected to see plenty of use. AMC officials believe it will also help develop the riverfront as a destination wedding venue.

Sources say the centre will be built within two-and-a-half years of the project being approved.
