A detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared for the publicprivate partnership (PPP) project, which pegs its cost at about â¹76,000 crore. This is a â¹11,000crore increase from 2020 when the project had first received an inprinciple approval from the Union Cabinet.
According to officials, the Centre will seek an investment of close to â¹38,000 crore from private operators interested in operating the proposed deep-draft port.
"The ministry is working on inter-ministerial consultations for the project right now. There is an expectation that these will be expedited and all inputs will be received and resolved soon," said government officials in the know.
