Forecast barely beating estimates stokes concerns of waning growth
Nvidia record sales fail to impress investors

Nvidia revenue more than doubled year-on-year to continue its run of blockbuster growth but failed to impress investors who have driven a dizzying rally in its shares as they bet billions on the future of AI.

The artificial intelligence (AI) chip giant announced record revenues of $30 billion over a three-month period until July 28, ahead of analysts' forecasts of $28.7 billion. In the third quarter, Nvidia is expecting $32.5 billion in revenue, plus or minus 2 per cent, only just ahead of analysts' consensus expectations.

Nvidia expects adjusted gross margin of 75 per cent, plus or minus 50 basis points, in the third quarter.

Analysts on average forecast gross margin to be 75.5 per cent, according to LSEG data. It reported a 75.7 per cent gross margin in the second quarter versus an average estimate of 75.8 per cent.
