Hassan Sentamu stabbed Elianne Andam at an arranged meeting with his former girlfriend and her friends, the Old Bailey was told.
Rather than return the toy in a swap of belongings, he plunged a knife in her neck having lost his temper over perceived "disrespect", jurors heard.
Sentamu, 18, who was studying sports science, admits manslaughter but denies murder on the basis of "loss of control" as he has autism.
Alex Chalk KC, prosecuting, told jurors yesterday: "You may feel that the catalyst for this dreadful attack was rather more simple: anger.
