Hotter than Ibiza...30C high is Worthy of Glastonbury

SOME parts of the UK were hotter than Ibiza yesterday as the longed-for summer sizzler hit 30C in this year's record high so far.

Chertsey in Surrey was the sultry trailblazer, seeing off the Balearic Isle's inferior 26C, and the mercury is set to soar even higher today.

Sunseekers headed to the beaches and parks to snatch some welcome rays while they could.

While for some 200,000 Glastonbury Festival-goers, the elements are set fair with a balmy high of 27C to look forward to with possibly just a spritz or two of refreshing rain.

Gates open for the five-day musical extravaganza today.

And photographer James Pearce provided an epic bird's eye view of the camping zones at Worthy Farm.

Flying in a paramotor 1,000ft above the venue, his aerial images show tents lined up uniformly in multi-coloured kaleidoscopic patterns. How long the tent city stays so neat and tidy remains to be seen.
