Royals hid phone hacking to avoid opening a 'can of worms', Harry tells court

PRINCE Harry has claimed the Royal Family withheld information about phone hacking to stop him launching a legal battle against the alleged snoopers.

The Duke of Sussex said in a statement to the High Court that other Royals believed he could open a can of worms” by bringing a claim.

Harry appeared at the central London court for a second day yesterday during a preliminary hearing of his action against Daily Mail publisher Associated Newspapers.

The 38-year-old said in his witness statement he was conditioned to accept” his family’s never complain, never explain” rule when dealing with the press.

But he realised five years ago that he had a claim that I could bring” while discussing hacking allegations against the publisher News Group Newspapers.
