PACKAGE holidays giant Tui is on track for a good year after a “very successful” first half with its hotels, resorts and cruises producing record results, according to chief executive Sebastian Ebel.

Revenues soared 14.8% to £6.8billion in the six months to the end of March, while its seasonal net loss dropped 40% to £284.1million. Net debt dropped by £945.6million to £2.7billion.

During the first half, 2.8 million went on holiday with Tui, an increase of 14% on last year. It said along with its hotels, resorts and cruises divisions’ results, its markets and airlines unit benefited from higher demand and prices.
