Skipper says 'blame me' as a sloppy run chase meant England were whitewashed

JOS BUTTLER admitted he had only himself to blame for being on the end of his first whitewash as England captain.

Buttler said a lazy run out cost him his wicket in the run chase against Bangladesh, and ultimately England the chance to get a consolation victory in Dhaka.

It meant that they brought down the curtain on an arduous winter containing six separate men's tours with a 3-0 defeat their first in T20 cricket for almost a decade.

Not since a 3-0 reverse to Australia in 2014 have England been on the receiving end of a whitewash in a T20 bilateral series, while they have dished it out four times in between.
