Putin and Jong-un sign pariahs pact in stand-off with West

VLADIMIR Putin and Kim Jong-un yesterday signed a pact promising to help each other out if either country faces aggression.

The Russian president declared it was a breakthrough document reflecting a shared desire to move relations between the nations to a higher level.

And the North Korean leader said Moscow and Pyongyang's "fiery friendship" is closer than during Soviet times.

Huge crowds waving flags and flowers lined the streets of the North Korean capital for Putin's giant motorcade.

Putin thanked Kim for North Korea's support for his war in Ukraine.
