Chiefs are stunned as Scotland and Lions legend says he will quit the pro game after the World Cup

STUART HOGG has shocked club and country by announcing he will quit professional rugby this autumn after the World Cup.

The Exeter and Scotland full-back (right) dropped the bombshell on social media, revealing he does not believe his body will allow him to maintain the standards he sets himself "for much longer".

The announcement came nine days after his 100th cap and coincided with bad news from another rugby centurion, with Leinster admitting Ireland captain Johnny Sexton is unlikely to play again for them.
