John's long life ends with music and love

THE world's oldest man has passed away aged 112, his family said.

John Alfred Tinniswood, born in the year the Titanic sank, died on Monday.

The lifelong Liverpool fan became the world's oldest living man in April when Juan Vicente Perez Mora died in Venezuela aged 114.

John was born on August 26, 1912, when King George V reigned and Lord Asquith was the PM.

His family said he was "intelligent, decisive, brave, calm in any crisis, talented at maths and a great conversationalist".

They thanked staff at his care home in Southport, Mersey-side, where he died.
