OLLIE GOOD SHOW

OLLIE POPE enjoyed a day of fun in the sun as England ran riot with the bat.

The right-hander collected his sixth Test century to leave the hapless Windies reeling.

The No.3 clobbered 121 in what was the highlight of an opening day that Kraigg Brathwaite will want to forget quickly.

The West Indies skipper was looking for a positive reaction to the mauling at Lord's.

But after winning the toss, he inexplicably asked the hosts to bat. And under a clear blue sky, Pope and his colleagues cashed in.

They were helped not just by Brathwaite's dubious decision, but also by a string of dropped catches, misfields and a missed stumping that helped Ben Stokes' men go past 400 on the opening day.

Pope made the most of being gifted two of those lifelines as England took a firm stranglehold on the second Test.
