Suzy suspect died in prison after suffering 'ruptured aneurysm

John Cannan died after a main blood artery ripped on November 6.

The 70-year-old was serving life for the abduction and murder of newlywed Shirley Banks in 1987.

Convicted rapist Cannan was later named by police as the killer of estate agent Suzy, 25, from London, who disappeared in July 1986.

Her body has never been found and Cannan took his secrets to his grave. Suzy's brother has now suggested the fiend's letters from prison and writings behind bars should be combed for clues, as he liked to "play games".

Cannan died in Full Sutton jail, in East Yorkshire, his inquest at Hull coroners court heard yesterday.
