HARRY MAGUIRE says Ruben Amorim has given him back his confidence.
Amorim told Maguire it was a "no brainer" for Manchester United to take up the one-year option to extend the England defender's contract until 2026.
And Maguire believes the United boss is the manager to help the club get back to winning trophies - admitting being stuck in 13th place in the table was "embarrassing".
United centre-half Maguire confessed he struggled under Ralf Rangnick before being dropped by Erik ten Hag but now says his self belief has returned.
Maguire said: "Ruben said to me that when it came across to him that I had an option, he said it was a no-brainer for him.
"It's given me confidence and belief that they want me at the club and part of this project. He's really demanding.
"And I'm happy to be here. I want this club to be back fighting for titles and not fighting where we are in the table right now. We've got a long way to go.
