Yousaf elected as new SNP leader. He issues 'one team' rallying call

HUMZA Yousaf said he felt like the "luckiest man in the world" after he was confirmed as the new SNP leader and Scottish First Minister yesterday.

Calling for unity in his victory speech, he urged the party to be "one team" after a divisive five-week contest to replace Nicola Sturgeon.

At 37, he will be the youngest leader of the Scottish government - and the first British Asian and Muslim to hold the post.

And he instantly vowed to deliver independence.
