EMBATTLED Rishi Sunak was last night blasted by Keir Starmer over the growing Tory betting scandal.
The Labour leader accused the Tory Prime Minister of "hiding" as the issue festered, before branding him "out of touch" and a "liar" over tax in the key BBC leaders debate.
The event started in chaos after noisy protesters tried to drown out the leaders.
But the PM created further confusion by constantly shouting over presenter Mishal Husain and Starmer - who stayed calm as he made his pitch to voters.
Sunak was on the back foot after it emerged around 15 Tories are under investigation by the Gambling Commission over bets on the July 4 poll.
He was immediately asked to account for the betting scandal engulfing his campaign.
He said: "I was as frustrated as you are furious when I learnt about these allegations. That's why I, alongside the Gambling Commission, initiated our own internal inquiries into what had happened and, as a result of that, have suspended two candidates."
