Garcia targets spot on Donald's team for Bethpage blockbuster

SERGIO GARCIA insists it's not a case of out of sight, out of mind as he told pal Luke Donald he's got plenty to offer - even if not fully motoring in Europe until the BMW in July.

The Spaniard coughed up a £1million fine and applied for his DP World Tour membership before last month's deadline to resurrect his Ryder Cup hopes.

Now he has to see out a suspension, which may well leave him a long shot to make Donald's side on points alone and needing to be pitch perfect in those events which count big time towards an automatic spot.

The 44-year-old is itching to put a tumultuous period behind him and return to former glories as he claims his famed competitive streak remains unbreakable.
