AMAZON is facing fresh outrage after it emerged the online giant's UK division paid no corporation tax for the second year in a row thanks to a £7.7 million tax credit

AMAZON REPEATS ITS UK TAX WRITE-DOWN

It benefited from a UK Government scheme rewarding its investment in infrastructure, including its use of robots.

Amazon UK Services was spared paying corporation tax under the "super-deduction" scheme, Companies House accounts reveal.

It sparked claims the retailer has been able to undercut small rivals.

The scheme, brought in by Rishi Sunak when he was chancellor, rewards businesses that plough cash into helping them expand.

However, critics say Amazon would have done this anyway.
