A WOMAN put her girlfriend in a chokehold and bit her face as an ashes-scattering trip descended into violence.

Laura Olbison, 26, has been placed under supervision for 12 months after leaving teeth marks in Megan Collins' face as they travelled to Scotland to scatter her grandmother's remains.

Stewart Duncan, prosecuting, told Perth Sheriff Court: "They had been in a relationship for about two years. They were in the Travelodge for the accused's birthday.

"There was a disagreement and the accused left the hotel.

"The complainer followed her as she had concerns for her welfare.
