TWO Scots who tried to smuggle £42million of cocaine into the UK using an inflatable boat have been jailed for a total of 22 years.

Daniel Livingstone and Mark Moran were arrested in May this year after 524kg of the drug was found in Livingstone's hire van outside a hotel in Lelley, Yorkshire.

The bust followed a covert investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) and is one of the UK's biggest ever drugs seizures.

The Scots had stayed the night at the hotel with Colombian drug smuggler Didier Tordecilla Reyes, 40.

Yesterday, Moran, 22, from Ardrishaig in Argyll, was jailed for 15 years while Livingstone, 25, from Campbeltown, was locked up for seven years.
