Brooks insists he Majors in shining when things get crazy

JON RAHM was forced to lock his phone in a drawer before the shock news of golf's bombshell peace pact left his head in a spin.

But while the shaken Spaniard took some time to clear his mind, rival Brooks Koepka was rubbing his hands in anticipation of the chaos he hopes will offer up a chance to dial into a second success Major.

The American insists he's at his best when madness abounds and believes fresh turbulence off the course will help him find his inner peace on it as the action gets underway in California at this week's US Open.

Keopka - the first LIV defector to land a Major when he lifted the US PGA last month - was as stunned as anyone to discover bosses at the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Saudi Public Investment Fund had secretly hatched a plan to end golf's bitter civil war.

The news raises the real prospect of Koepka and the rest of the LIV rebels rejoining their former tour as early as next season. That might not go down too well with the PGA stars who remained loyal in the face of eye-watering cash offers from LIV's Saudi paymasters.

But Koepka isn't worrying about conflict on the course as he eyes up a sixth career Major at the Los Angeles County Club this week.

The 33-year-old - a previous two-time winner - said: "I don't think there's really been too much animosity between players in general. That's been a lot more constructed from the media side than the player side.
