CORRIE NDABA has made the perfect start to his Kilmarnock career after they kicked off their Viaplay Cup campaign with two clean sheet victories.

But the Irish defender reckons his history with bitter rivals Ayr United means he still has to go the extra mile to secure a place in the affections of the Killie fans.

Ndaba, who has joined Derek McInnes' side on a season-long loan from Ipswich Town, impressed in the hard-earned win at Dunfermline on Saturday.

It's a second spell in Scottish football for the 23-year-old who spent the second half of the 2020-21 season on loan at Ayr.

Ndaba says his time at Somerset Park helped him grow as a player still highly rated by Ipswich who handed him a new three-year contract last summer.
