DOCS TOLD ME I WAS DIGGING MY OWN GRAVE

A MUM who developed an eating disorder after losing so-called baby weight for her wedding returned to health after doctors told her she was "digging her own grave".

Ailsa Gardiner chose a wedding dress that was a little too small six months after giving birth but by the time of the wedding she had started to develop anorexia.

The mum of two, from Inverness, battled the eating disorder for two years - eating one meal a day and walking as many steps as possible.

She wore baggy clothes to cover up her weight loss, and weighed herself three times a day.

But after collapsing while in a queue for coffee, she asked for help as she "wasn't prepared to not see my children grow up".

Now in recovery, Ailsa, mum to Lucas, five, and Vanessa, four, is happy and healthy, and eats the recommended amount of meals without checking calories.
