Medics warn they will not cope this winter

DOCTORS in Scotland claim they are now operating in a "war zone", where delays are putting lives at risk.

A survey of medics has revealed 80 percent believe staffing levels are unsafe.

Dr Iain Kennedy, chairman of the British Medical Association Scotland, said doctors are at breaking point.

The survey sent to 16,000 doctors this month revealed:

72 percent said medical staffing has worsened relative to patient demand

62 percent are worried or very worried doctors cannot meet patient demand this winter.
