EU'VE GOT WORK TO DO

THE rest of us are about to put the world on pause.

Over the course of the next month or so, it will probably begin to feel as if we are spending our whole lives at the Euros.

But behind the scenes at Rangers, these next three weeks could be the busiest and most important time of the year.

If my old club do not get their business done in the transfer market as quickly as possible, they could find themselves up against it before a ball has even been kicked next season.

The good news is, as far as I can see, the people in charge at Ibrox know exactly what is required.

There is no danger of chairman John Bennett putting his feet up and watching what is going on in Germany when there is so much for him to attend to.

Bennett has already stepped up to take over the responsibilities of chief executive, with James Bisgrove leaving the club for life-changing money in Saudi Arabia.

Bisgrove may have had his critics over the years but I got to know him reasonably well and I found him an impressive individual. I'm disappointed to see him leave because I like and respect the guy but, as we've I seen with players over the last couple of years, when the Middle East come calling, the money they throw around can be headspinning. I'm sure James was made an offer he couldn't refuse.

Good luck to him.
