Crews flag up lack of investment, conditions and health concerns

SCOTLAND’S fire service is in “crisis” according to a new eport, which found low morale, under-investment and budget cuts are impacting severely on firefighters. 

The report, titled Firestorm, which will be released by the Fire Brigade Union (FBU) tomorrow at the Scottish Parliament, assessed the challenges faced by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).

It identified concerns over response times, poor training, equipment and health concerns over fire contaminants.
