Angus says Euro dream Still alive as he eves Cup glory with Dons

ANGUS MacDONALD’S first aim is for the top six but he’s still dreaming of Aberdeen making a return to the Euro group stage – via the Scottish Cup.

The Dons are loitering just above the relegation play-off spot but can still make the top half and MacDonald knows if they could win the Cup it would pip third-placed Hearts to guaranteed European group stage football.

It’s a big ask because they have Celtic in next month’s semi-final but MacDonald wants Aberdeen to build up some Premiership form ahead of then, starting with tonight’s visit to Dundee.

The experienced Englishman said: “The whole team knows what’s at stake now as results and performances haven’t been where they need to be.

“But it’s never too late to turn it around and we can still get group-stage footbal l by winning the Cup.
