Hitman 'days from flying in' for security guard's plot to kill Holly

POLICE continued to guard Holly Willoughby at her home last night after a security guard accused of plotting to have her kidnapped and killed appeared in court.

Gavin Plumb had bought weapons for an alleged hitman that were found at his flat, a judge was told yesterday.

The potential killer was due to fly in from the US on Monday, the court heard.

Police raided Plumb's home on Wednesday and arrested him.

The 36-year-old, from Harlow, Essex, - who in 2018 told the BBC his weight ballooned to 35st - is accused of offences including soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap.

District Judge Caroline Dickson told him when he appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court: "This is a really serious allegation.

"The case against you is you had items in your home which were used in the preparation to carry out these offences. The other party is abroad and has made preparations to arrive next week."
