A MUM raped by a monster released on bail just days earlier has condemned a new Bill which campaigners fear could free more violent offenders.

Julie Spence was repeatedly raped by evil Harpal Singh Sehra as her three children slept upstairs at her home in Ballingry, Fife.

The horror attack happened just 12 days after the serial offender was granted bail while charged with her assault and abduction.

The 43-year-old victim bravely waived her right to anonymity to campaign for tougher bail restrictions and longer sentences for rapists but believes "failed promises" on justice reform are responsible for a spike in the number of violent bail crimes.

Now Julie has written to Justice Secretary Angela Constance about new legislation aimed at reducing the number of people remanded in custody, slamming the Scottish Government's "soft touch approach".

Julie told the Record: "It doesn't matter how many times people are murdered, raped and attacked by monsters out on bail. The same practice continues.
