Next stop Stuttgart for Tartan Army as battling display gives us chance of making knock-out stage

HUNGARY FOR MORE

THE Tartan Army are set to march on to Stuttgart after a battling draw against Switzerland kept the nation's Euro hopes alive.

Almost 50,000 Scots were in Cologne last night to see Scotland get the point they needed to make Sunday's match against Hungary an absolute must-win.

A victory in Stuttgart would give Scotland a good chance of qualifying for the knock-out stages of a major tournament for the first time in our history.

And for in fans Cologne last night the fighting 1-1 draw was greeted like a victory after our humiliation against Germany in the tournament opener.

It was another Tartan Army takeover as tens of thousands gathered at the city centre's Alter Markt after the tense encounter, which saw Scott McTominay's early goal cancelled out by a Xherdan Shaqiri equaliser.

Among the Tartan Army was David Begley, a 41-year-old accountant from Glasgow, who said: "The first match wasn't very good but I always fancied our chances against the Swiss.

"I was hoping for at least a draw. It keeps us in it and we can take the Hungarians on Sunday now. We now have a great chance of qualifying and it was great craic at the fan zone.

It was a great place to watch the game." Stuart MacPherson was at the fan zone with pals Fraser Reid, Kat Brown, Melanie Harley and Charlie Barry.
