FIRED-UP Barry Robson has defended himself and his Aberdeen team ahead of the clash with Rangers by insisting: “You know me, I want to win every game.”
The Dons boss has come out fighting after questions were raised about his side and their record against the Light Blues compared to Celtic.
Aberdeen lost 6-0 to the Hoops before the international break and haven’t beaten them since 2018 but have a more impressive record against the Ibrox side, having beaten them twice in the last three meetings.
Former Ibrox striker Kris Boyd weighed into the argument after that 6-0 loss, insisting Robson would have no problem getting the Dons up for the next game because it was Rangers.
Robson, who was a kid at Ibrox before playing for Celtic later in his career, refused to be drawn into a war of words with his old Middlesbrough teammate but said: “We try to win every game we can. That what my teams are all about.”
Aberdeen beat Gers at Pittodrie last season, on the way to clinching third place. They then followed that up with a 3-1 win at Ibrox earlier this season, in Michael Beale’s last stand.
Robson knows those games will have very little bearing on Sunday but wants the Red Army to be a 12th man.
