iPad storm MSP set for parly ban

A ban is set to be ordered by the Scottish Parliament’s disciplinary committee tomorrow with some MSPs demanding a suspension of more than 10 days.

Matheson quit as health secretary in February over the massive bill he racked up on an iPad during a family holiday to Morocco.

He initially denied any misuse of parliamentary equipment and wanted the taxpayer to foot the bill for the data roaming charges.

But after facing sustained questions he admitted his children had used the device to stream football.

Holyrood bosses found Matheson guilty of breaching the MSPs’ code of conduct, including expenses rules.

The cross-party Standards Committee will announce its recommended punishment to- morrow, which, the Record understands, will be a Holyrood ban.
