New boss sees Eagles fail to hold on as Roy stands down
Is the Glas half-full or empty at Palace?

OLIVER GLASNER watched his new side blow a big win as Everton scored late to deny Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

The incoming Eagles boss watched on from the directors’ box as Palace threw away another lead just hours after Roy Hodgson parted ways with the club.

Amadou Onana headed home for the Toffees to move them out of the relegation zone as he cancelled out Jordan Ayew’s stunning strike for the visitors.

It’s the 17th goal Palace have conceded in the final 15 minutes of games this season as they missed a glorious chance to move eight clear of the bottom three.

Hodgson’s right-hand man Ray Lewington and assistant manager Paddy McCarthy oversaw their old manager’s side one more time after Glasner was confirmed as the new permanent boss.

Glasner, 49, led Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory over Rangers in 2022 and has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League club.
