Murray thrilled over Ibrox strike but County's top-flight future is priority

SIMON MURRAY drew daggers at Ibrox as he scored the goal that stopped Rangers going top of the table.

But the Ross County striker admits he'll happily hand the poaching plaudits to his teammates if it helps to cut the Dingwall side loose of their shackles near the bottom.

Rangers had to win by three clear goals on Wednesday to replace Celtic at the top but fell short when Murray pounced for his 14th goal of the season in a 3-1 defeat.

The result means the Staggies remain stuck in play-off limbo land, six points clear of basement boys Livingston but five behind St Johnstone in 10th.

Caretaker boss Don Cowie now takes his side to Dundee today looking to arrest a 10-game winless run. And the club's top scorer doesn't care who gets the goals as long as it helps his team eat into Saints' lead.
