Second surgery can't stop brave lad

A "LITTLE legend" who had two major spinal operations in a year has made an incredible recovery after emergency surgery.

Harvey Martin was discharged from the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh six days after his operation.

The 11-year-old said: "I would like to thank Dr Enrique Garrido, the spinal team and all the nurses who work on Creighton and Dunvegan wards for all their encouragement and believing I could smash it out the park." The youngster, who had to appeal to former first minister Nicola Sturgeon through the Daily Record to get his first operation, had his surgery a week ago.
