MAN ON MISSING

TOMI ADELOYE scored two and should have had four as Firhill for chills sent a shiver down the spine of rock-bottom Arbroath.

The injury-ravaged Gayfield outfit were blown away by a red-hot second-half showing from Partick Thistle that warmed the hearts of their 3000 fans on a day when the temperature rarely rose above freezing.

Kris Doolan's men produced plenty of fast-moving, free-flowing football that saw Adeloye net twice to add to the first half counter from Brian Graham and man of the match Aidan Fitzpatrick's strike just after the break.

On-loan Swindon striker Adeloye made a big impact after replacing Graham and not for the right reasons initially.

The big man blasted over the top and then past the post in quick succession before applying finishing touche inside the six-yard box in the final 10 minutes as Thistle cemented their place in third spot and began to eye a title challenge, with Raith and Dundee United both losing on the same day.

His double took his tally to five for the season and Adeloye and his boss were delighted with his ability to bounce back from the disappointment of the two which got away.

Doolan said: "It's the life of a striker. I spoke to him after the game about it.
