Carlos is No.1 after first grass title

CARLOS ALCARAZ says Novak Djokovic retains the Wimbledon wow factor despite going top of the world in etching his name on a first grass court title.

The Spaniard's 6-4 6-4 win over Aussie Alex de Minaur at Queen's sent him to the rankings summit in the week SW19 seedings are set.

Alcaraz, 20, was playing only his third grass court tournament and his first outside of two trips to the All England Club that produced second and fourth-round exits.

Asked if he'd fired out some sort of challenge to Djokovic - with 86 wins at Wimbers compared to 85 for the rest of world's top 20 combined- he said: "Well, I go into Wimbledon right now with a lot of confidence. That's obvious.
