'18 MPs submit letters of no confidence' in Sunak in revolt over immigration policy chaos

RISHI Sunak is fighting to cling to power in a new Tory civil war.

The PM's leadership is in turmoil after his close pal, Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick, quit in a row over the Rwanda migrant deportation scheme.

Downing Street will spend the weekend twisting MPs arms before they vote on Tuesday on emergency legislation they hope will finally get flights in the air.

But they face a fight on two fronts. Hardliners claim it is not tough enough while moderates fear it could be illegal.

Amid fevered speculation that Sunak could face a move to oust him, a Tory rebel told our sister paper the Mirror 18 MPs had put in letters of no confidence even before Jenrick's resignation.
