ROBSON: I'M DONE BEING APPRENTICE

INTERIM boss Barry Robson will meet with new Aberdeen chief Alan Burrows this week and will make it clear he wants to be a manager in his own right.

Burrows, who started as chief executive yesterday, has been given power in the managerial search with chairman Dave Cormack back in America recovering from heart surgery.

Robson has stepped up from being Under-18 coach to halt the slide and get them back into the top six with last Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Livingston.

He has done his coaching badges, learnt his trade and wishes to become his own man.

Robson wants the chance to take the Dons back into the European fight.

But then, that all depends on what direction the new Pittodrie powerbroker wants to take.

The 44-year-old former Scotland midfielder made his pitch for the permanent role as he said: “I want to be a manager one day, I will be a manager one day. Whether it’s here or somewhere else, nobody knows.
