CalMac insists coming through adversity to finish the season in style will help Celtic sparkle when next campaign begins

CALLUM MCGREGOR reckons winning through noise and adversity can help Celtic become stronger.

And the Parkhead captain insists the squad will press reset and return with a hard mentality to boost their bid to be even better.

Despite having just steered the squad to a Double success, McGregor already has his eyes on the next prizes.

Celtic's Premiership and Scottish Cup triumphs were built on resilience as well as ability with big questions asked at various points throughout the season.

With a raft of new players entering the building and boss Brendan Rodgers back for a second spell there were challenges to overcome, especially in the initial stages.

New recruits had to understand the demands and the pressures of the club while injuries to key men during the campaign didn't help.

But, having got it done, McGregor can see benefits from it moving forward as Rodgers and the club plot the next stage for the squad.

The skipper said: "For the group it will be a positive experience because it has ended well.

"The players have come in, seen the size of the club and what the demands are.

"You are still winning but not in brilliant style so there is a little bit of noise.

"You have to understand that when you are playing at this club you have to win and you have to win well.

"We got better as the season went on so for the guys who are here it will be important for them moving forward.
