Anas claims 'momentum' as survey has Labour on track to beat SNP at election

ANAS Sarwar claims "momentum is with Scottish Labour" after a poll showed that his party would beat the SNP at the next general election.

The survey projected Labour would win 26 of the Scottish seats at Westminster, while the SNP would take 21.

Labour currently only has one of the 59 Scottish seats. The SNP has 45 but won 48 at the last election. Two MPs defected to Alba and Margaret Ferrier lost the party whip after breaking Covid rules.

The Conservatives would take seven and the Lib Dems would win five, with both parties adding one extra seat each.
