Glasgow to declare housing emergency as figures show 244 HOMELESS PEOPLE died in Scotland last year

SCOTLAND’S biggest city is set to declare a housing emergency – as new figures reveal 244 homeless people died in Scotland last year.

The action proposed in Glasgow comes after a Home Office fast-tracking of asylum cases was announced which threatens to flood the city with more homeless applications.

The emergency call will be considered by the council tomorrow and comes on the heels of the latest shocking annual figures for homeless deaths in Scotland.

The new revelations come a week after the SNP rejected the chance to support Labour’s motion to declare a housing crisis across Scotland.
