WE CAN'T STAY HERE ANY MORE

A PENSIONER has been forced to share a bedroom with her brain-damaged son for almost two years due to a housing shortage.

Elizabeth Molloy became a full-time carer to son John, 43, in 2021 after a drug overdose left him with severe brain damage and partial paralysis.

The 72-year-old said John has been stuck in his room in their upper-floor, one-bedroom flat in Glasgow's Maryhill since he was discharged from the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in January 2022.

Elizabeth is unable to help carry John up and down the stairs and barely leaves her home.

Queens Cross Housing Association has been unable to find them a suitable property with disability access.
