SCOTLAND V ENGLAND CHAOS FEARS

THOUSANDS of football fans face gridlock as traffic wardens go on strike at the sell-out Scotland versus England game at Hampden tomorrow.

Parking enforcers working for Glasgow City Council will not ticket or arrange to tow cars in the hours before the clash with the Auld Enemy as part of industrial action by local authority workers over pay.

Union bosses are warning that the sold-out match could face gridlock on roads around the national stadium due to illegally parked cars blocking access roads.

They urged Police Scotland to give details on how fans will be protected and to reveal contingency plans for ambulances and emergency vehicles accessing Hampden.

GMB Scotland, representing the strikers, said cops should make clear alternative plans for keeping all priority "red routes" around the stadium open.
